No Farewell Party

This Friday is my colleague last day at work. I told him that I will bring a cake for a mini farewell party. Yesterday he told me not to bring the cake because he doesn’t think the boss would like it. He said it will give the impression that we are encouraging him to leave. What can I do if he says like that?

His sister, the lady boss still cannot let him go and still told him to go for 2 weeks paid leave. One thing for sure he won’t come back after the leave. He has his new job itinerary laid out for him already; traveling around the world. Something that he always dreamt of.

I Love Tattoo Too

I really admire those who have tattoos all over their body. They really have high tolerance to pain. I don't mind having tattoos on my body but not the permanent ones. I prefer those that are washable and I can keep changing the tattoo design to suits my mood at that moment in life. I think this type of tattoo is cheaper.

What Women Do

What women do when they are extremely bored? The same as men when they meet. We share our s*x experiences. Sharing tips on how to pleasure our husband. He is a generous man

The colleague that is resigning is a very generous man. Every festive season, he will buy meat and goodies for the foreign workers that work with this company out of his own pocket money. The boss never does that. He told me that when they are happy, they will take his instructions and perform better in their job.

Recently I was chatting away with my other colleagues about High School Musical in his presence. You see, I am a big fan of High School Musical. I have watched the movie numerous times until my girls commented, "Oh No! Mommy, not again!" hahaha.

I got a surprised of my life when he told me that he is giving me High School Musical tickets for me and my family to watch the show! He is too generous. God bless his soul. :)

It is true that he is resigning?

I still cannot digest the fact that the colleague who is sitting next to my desk is resigning soon. I come to office everyday asking the same question; You confirm resigning? After 8 years of working closely with him, we have developed a very close working relationship. We always back each other when the boss starts throwing "darts" at us. I am sure gonna miss him especially when he can't shield me anymore from the "darts".

No Signature, Cannot Sue

We just received feedback from the company's lawyer that we cannot sue the company that accused us of producing recycle oil because the lab report that was given by them is without a signature.

Later the lawyer discovered that the first and second copy of the report has a different font. You see, during the meet up at the customer office, our managers saw the 2nd page of the lab report has the word "Recycle Oil". However we were only furnished with the first page. When asked for the second page, they were reluctant to give. After much persuasion, they faxed us the second page but not the actual second page that our managers saw. When we asked for it, they said, that is the only second page they have. They denied having another second page with the word "Recycle Oil" on it.

We did not notice that the font was different until the lawyer points it out to us. It seems that the customer is trying to cover up for that competitor who furnishes the lab report.

Well, case close. We are not going to deal with this customer anymore since they are not being honest to us.

Marriage First before Career

Competitor will be bias

Company reputation and image is very important. My boss is willing to go all out and spending as much needed to the extend of loosing the business with the customer who tried to ruin our image and reputation by covering up for our competitor. It is okay to send our oil to be tested by a competitor but it is not okay to reveal to that the competitor who manufactured the oil. Definitely the competitor will be bias and will give untrue report to bring us down so that that customer will give the business to them. Boss is not back yet from his China trip. If we are in US, I am sure boss will hire the best law firm like simmons jannace stagg to handle this case and gain back our good image.

Protecting The Competitor

My boss is VERY upset with ABC Company that sent our oil to the competitor for testing. Not because they sent our oil there but because they protected that company by not providing us the complete lab report from that competitor. The lab report comes in 3 pages but only 2 pages were faxed to us. The page that has the word "Recycle Oil" was not faxed to us and the Asst. GM denied that there is such a page but both our Managers saw it with their own eyes.

My company survives by its good reputation with most International Oil MNC. If this report land in their hands, we are doom! This is the main reason that boss is going to sue that competitor for providing such comment in the lab report.

I have worked with this company for more than 8 years, we NEVER produce recycle oil.

Due to this issue, we are not going to proceed with ABC Company orders. They are just about to start coming out their own brand and we as their product manufacturer. They rather protect our competitors than us, so where does this business relationship leads?

Boss already in China today. I don't think he can really enjoy his vacation with this problem in his mind. He was so angry that day until he mentioned that "I am going to 'F' him (the Asst GM) and call him Chicken in front of his CEO!"

I have already sent the email with regards to this issue to the Asst GM and cc to his CEO. Hope things can be settle out of court.

Too Generous

Last Thursday we went to visit Uncle George, the father to the one of the Wycliffe missionaries that we are supporting. He is one generous man. Hubby was commenting on his landscape lighting and he insisted that hubby bring it home! Thank God I reminded hubby not to accept anything from him anymore. The last time, he gave us his bonsai with the flower pot. Not one but 4 pots! Too generous. :)

Honored

The GM of the company that is having the office warming party called my boss personally to invite him and reminded him to bring me along. Felt so honored that I am wanted in that function. But I doubt he is going coz lady boss is not in good health (high blood pressure) and she has also asked us to order a hamper from Noel for them. Oh well, next time, if I am still here. :P

New office warming party

One of my company's customers is going to have their new office warming party and invited me to come along with my boss. The one that brought me goodies when she went to Penang recently. So I told me to include my name in the invitation letter if she wants to see my face in her new office. I have been liaising with them for over 8 years. The customer visited me and I never step in their office before.

I told lady boss about the party but she is not keen in going. She is always like that one. Leave the PR thing to the big boss. So I told the big boss that I am wanted in that party! hehehe. He told me that he will discuss with his wife first (lady boss) and asking me whether I can go there by myself. I never even drive to KL before! Unless he let me drive his Lotus Elise, I will find ways to go there. hehehe.

Gift from Customer

Normally we receive gift from suppliers but not customers. Especially when CNY is approaching, we will receive cartons of Mandarin oranges, hampers and Pamelo.

I am quite close to one customer rep. Her recently visit to my company, I brought her out for lunch and shopped for some Malacca’s goodies for her and her colleagues. Lady boss was not available to entertain her then.

She was in Penang for a conference last week and brought back some Penang famous biscuit called the Tambun Biscuit as a return favor to me! She got her Malacca’s Sales Rep. to send the biscuit to my factory. So nice of her.

My boss and family, one year a few times they will return to their hometown Penang for shopping and food. Never once. I repeat never once they buy anything back for us. Btw, there are only 4 of us in the office. The OM, 2 clerks and myself.

Fairness

In this world nothing is no such thing as fairness. The boss told the OM something along this line… “I cannot allow this as to be fair to the rest.” You see, sometimes OM comes in late. PM on the other hand always get his way. Come in late for work, come in late after tea break and come in late after lunch. Recently he came in later than the boss. The OM did inform the big boss about it. This is his reply, “You are not important to the company.” What kinda boss will tell such you such a statement? OM is his brother in law some more!

Taking Advantage

I do not know whether you call this gossip or not but here goes the story…

When I interviewed the new clerk (Daliah), she told me that all her family members are in Sabah and she is currently staying with her aunt. That’s fine with me.

After 2 days of working I got curious on how she came to work. Another colleague (Mona) told me that she came with her boyfriend’s brother who is also working as a part-time worker here. Mona added that that Daliah is staying with the boyfriend’s family! And the so-called future MIL plan to get them wedded by end of this year.

Just now, Mona told me that Daliah told her that she has no feeling for the boyfriend. Mona then rebuked her by advising her to move out from the house if that is so.

To me, Daliah is taking advantage of the boy and his family. Getting free stay, free meal and free rides. It is so not fair to the so-called boyfriend. He will sure be heart broken after finding out the truth.

Flowers for Sara

If the boss really decided to terminate the contract with ABC Company, I would send flowers to Sara, the Asst Manager as a token of our friendship that has been built over the years of working hand in hand with her ensuring products are being collected, packed and delivered.

I enjoy working with her because she is very efficient, professional and very friendly too to the extend that she can talk on the phone for more than half an hour complaining to me about her colleagues and boss!

BTW, she is still single, anyone interested, email me, I will introduce you to her. ;)

Bread for Colleague

I am going to repay his generosity by baking another loaf of the above for him this Monday. He spent more than a hundred ringgit on food during our last trip to Twin Tower, he bought organic bread for us (my other colleague and myself) to share whenever he have his lunch at the organic restaurant and he back me up when boss tried to find fault in me.

Truck Rack

When my dad was working in a golf course as a truck driver, sometimes he will bring home the truck after sending it for the yearly inspection. The truck that he drove has a truck rack. Sometimes, when our neighbour or his friends need to transport long item like woods, pipes or ladder which the normal truck cannot fit, they will request my dad to bring the truck home. Of course they paid him some cash for it. He took the risk of getting caught by his manager using the truck for personal use. :)

Reputation

The MD of the ABC Company called my boss to inform him his unhappiness about the way we do work. Telling my boss that he doesn’t not want to hear any more problem and we are not allowed to make anymore mistake in the future. Threatening my boss that if anymore mistake were to occur he will look for another supplier!

Actually, the mistake was done by his Asst Manager, confirming something without consulting me first which is the normal practice. Due to it, additional cost incurred to his company but he put the blame to us (me) saying that we are not flexible and do not put the customer interest first. Hello! You do not follow procedure, wanna blame me pulak!

Mistakes and problem will sure occur. We are human being. So, before they terminate us, boss might terminate them first. The company reputation is more important that the dollar sign.

Decision will be made this Monday.

The Operation Manager was told to get a new modem. I was in the boss office when the OM went to his car with the modem. Boss saw it too. A little while after that, boss went home and he called me asking whether the OM went to buy a new modem. I told him, “You saw that he left the office with the modem right?” His reply, “Yes, but how would I know whether he went to buy modem or he went back to sleep? He did not inform me or my wife.”

Boss continued and repeated, “What if he goes back to sleep? This is business ok! Inform! Inform!” I just kept quite and listen. Haiyo, you told him to buy he go lar! Must inform again meh?

Another thing, OM is boss’ BIL. Boss' wife, the lady boss is his elder sister. Yes, they are related but he treats him worst than us! OM told me that boss warned him not to inform anyone that they are related. I think he malu to let his friend know that he has a poor BIL! This kind BIL also got.

OM told me that his father (boss FIL) made this remark, “He know how to plus and times but dunno how to divide.” He hoards the wealth for his wife and children only.
