Digital Camera Batteries

I am using rechargeable batteries for my digital camera, I guess everyone who owns a camera does. Lately, the batteries has been giving me problem. At first I thought it is the battery charger problem. It is because my digital camera batteries died down on me very fast. Later I realised it is my digital camera's problem. Whenever my camera can't start due to low battery, I pressed the battery compartment, and then my camera can be turn on. Send for repair? I'm sure it will be costly. Since my camera still can be used. I shall use it until it really died down on me.
