Sit and Do Nothing

We have one Nepalese worker that is extra lazy and an alcoholic. Once he gets his pay, he will get himself drunk by drinking beer. He won't come to work for a few days. Most of the time, the OM will tell him not to come to work and stay at home for another 2 weeks. Meaning he will have less pay. You see, they are paid by the numbers of days that they work.

This time around, the OM did not send him home instead instructed him to sit in the office and do nothing. He is not allowed to touch or read anything. Just sit and be quiet. I wonder whether this is effective in teaching him a lesson.

Let see whether he skip work again by beginning next month after he got his pay.
