Education Insurance or Equity Fund

I still have not purchase any insurance for my son. Still have not decided whether to go for education or investment. Low returns but guaranteed returns, education fund it is. High returns, if the market is good, then equity fund it will be. But there is a risk involved in every investment. Do I dare to take the risk? Still not decided yet.
