Daihatsu Ascend Petrol Consumption

Last week, I drove my Daihatsu Ascend until almost empty tank. Then we fill up till the max and it came up to almost 42 litre = RM84.00. We set our mileage to 0 to find out how much my Daihatsu Ascend consumes petrol/km. We traveled to Petaling Jaya and back to Melaka. We traveled mostly on highways. We spent about RM77 for 400km. That is 0.1925 cents per kilometer. So, that is basically how much petrol a Daihatsu Ascend (Auto) consumes per kilometer. I guess, it will be slightly more if you drive in town.

Subsidized Petrol

My BIL is running a "Water" business; selling water filters and selling all kinds of water. In this business, you need a truck to transport the water filters and water everyday. In order to save cost on the petrol, he applied for petrol subsidy from the government. I am not so sure how much is the subsidy but what I know is for RM33 of petrol, they are paying about RM28 only. That is RM5 discount. Wah! I wish the government can give petrol subsidy for SAHM. ;)
