Is He A Criminal

Hubby was approached by a Jordanian guy asking him to be his partner to open a bakery. I am not so sure what is hubby's decision about it. It is kinda scary for me to join venture with a foreigner that we hardly know. Yes, he is rich, buying everything with cash. But who knows how he got all those money. I wonder whether he is a criminal in his country. Is there any way to check his background?
